47 Ceemar Court
When we first went over, there was A LOT of cleaning to do. We also had to decide what needed to get done before we could move in and what could be done once we were in. Of course, paint was in order, which meant a lot more cleaning and ridding the walls of all the drapes, nails and picture hangers! We also needed new living room carpet, . The kitchen needed new counter tops, new flooring, and new appliances. The rest could be done as needed when occupied...
Here is Andy washing the walls, who knew walls could get SO DIRTY!
Oma "the baby whisperer" helping Yaya get comfy in the house. You can see the carpet in the living room - yuck! I mean the rest of the house is also shag, but this was beyond yucky!
Here are all the drapes and poles!!! It took ONE WHOLE DAY to get these off and all the face plates!!
This is the kitchen before. Well, it got an Omi Cleaning Smackdown, so it doesn't look half bad...but upon closer inspection...
Yikes, the sink!! Notice the beautiful accent tile next to the face plate!
The cook top is 48", they don't even make electric cook tops this big anymore. It is so NASTY! We were thinking of keeping it, but we realized if anything went wrong with it, we would have trouble getting parts.
This was the "red tag" which was actually fluorescent orange! The wet stuff is Goo Gone, the sticker is gone!!
Vanna is proudly showing you the prize...This fridge is SMELLY. It was cool though, all the drawers rotate out!
This is where they broke down the door to get the occupants out:( so sad. We had to get a new door. This door also has an orange "red" tag.
Here is Yaya on the green shag. She cries in the house, hopefully once the bad "juju" is gone, she will like it.
One of the first repairs, stopping the sink leak!
Omi taking a well deserved break from cleaning!
The painting begins. We all pooled our paint together to use in the house. We shouldn't even have to buy that much!!
Yeah, the carpet is gone!
Aaron, one of the carpet guys lays the padding!!
AAAAHHHH! New carpet smell.
Andy begins the demo in the kitchen!
The sink, can it be saved??? It is HUGE!
The cook top goes...
All of the tile is gone! Andy and Uncle Bart, who was here to visit and got sucked into the court domination project, knocked down the existing bar and extended the counter into an "island/bar". Looks good! Kelsey and Aunt Deedee even took part in demo!!
Alex and Bart bringing in the board for the new"bar/ island". If you look to the right and see that green and white contraption, that is the in-wall vacuum system - that works!
Andy cutting wood for something.
This is the tree from the front yard. It just fell apart - it was infested with termites!!! Good riddance tree. Aron calls it "the spooky tree"
I took off all the wallpaper in the kitchen and Mark and Andy sprayed mud on it. That was a cool process. It is all ready for paint.
Uncle Mark and Alex started the tiling and Andy finished it. It was cool to watch them all work together.
WOW! Omi's cleaning...she kept trying. She mopped the nasty floor 3 times during the project. The boys still managed to make it look like a real construction site!
Mark, Andy, and Arie. Here you can see the pool fence that was installed. It is such a relief to have this.
Oma, Omi, Theresa, Alex, and I also painted a good portion of the house. But since I was covered in paint and I am the one who took pictures, there are none of this, except Omi took some pics, I will have to put up some of those....
